MAGAZINE OF THE YEAR: Can You Honestly Afford NOT to Have Your Best Work Seen By a Roomful of Today's Top Creatives?!

MAGAZINE OF THE YEAR: Can You Honestly Afford NOT to Have Your Best Work Seen By a Roomful of Today's Top Creatives?! There. I've brazenly pointed out something so obvious that many of us may have missed it.

The stated objective of Magazine of the Year is to honor the art director "whose magazine demonstrates the most effective and imaginative use of design, typography, illustration and photography."  OK, Got it... BUT, while it's possible that you might not actually win MoY, the three issues you submit will be seen by a panel of some 64 judges and luminaries in our field, all gathered in one place at one time. (Have a look at the names on page 2 of the Call for Entries here.) Face it, bitches* -- it's not all that likely that you'll ever sit Luke Hayman down with Andrew Essex and Kathleen McGowan and have them review your work under any other circumstance! Think of the opportunity. Think of the power! Think of it as networking!

When you enter any of our other 54 competition categories, you're entitled to enter Magazine of the Year for free. That's right, FREE. When you do that, you put your work directly into the hands of the best and brightest creatives in the land. So even if you don't win, you'll still come out ahead, know what I mean? Do yourself a favor in these less-than-favorable times. Enter the competition and then enter Magazine of the Year!

Full details on how to enter (if you haven't already) are on page 3 of the Call for Entries, here.

Now it all makes perfect sense. -- Ed.)
