HOLY COW! This is before George finishes his first cup o' joe in the morning??? HaHa. He is the best! Mr. Lois is the quintessential Madison Avenue legend that EVERYone must see at least once. And can't wait to hear about all those Esquire covers too. I'm sure he's saying, "those were the days, my friend."
No, Nancy. He's saying, "those were the fucking days, my friend."
He should be a Protected Natural Resource.
Do yourselves a favor and go see this talk, in fact it is mandatory as a working creative that you go see George.
This living legend has more GREAT stories than all of us put together and he can tell them in a way that's going to keep you listening, inspired and stoke that fire that should be raging in your belly!
George is the one who reminds me daily to not let bullshit politics get in my way, to trust my gut as a creative director and to always "Go for the Big Idea".
George has not gone gently into the night, in fact this guy still plays ball every Saturday! I bet you don't have the energy for that and your 1/3 his age. Not to mention he is the guy who made using the word "fuck" a total art form. No apologies.
George told me once the story of God coming down from heaven while he was still in the crib and telling him to be careful, as a child his mother told him to be careful, society told him to be careful... he never listened to any of them and thank goodness. George has taken tons of risks over his career and single handedly changed the way magazines effected culture in the United States. He will remind you that playing it safe will get you nowhere.
GET TICKETS NOW FOR THIS RARE CHANCE TO SEE GEORGE LOIS AND SCOTT DADICH IN CONVERSATION. TWO OF THE MOST AMAZING CREATIVES LIVING TODAY!!!! DO IT NOW!
Oh yeah and never forget to "Go for the Big Idea"!
;)
I am DEFINITELY not missing this one.
I am sure going to be there. Wouldn't miss it.
