"LA" tour keeps on rollin'
The project, a collaboration with Vancouver based graphic designer Tom Brown, debuted in Austin last July and has travelled more kilometers than the peleton showing in Amsterdam among other velo-obsessed cities. The project has been on-going since 2004 and is described as "an ambient photo study of the Tour de France, the most famous and prestigious road bicycle race in the world".
As I'm sure you all recognize from the poster below Tom Brown's custom font "le tour" (developed for this project which includes books, t-shirts, posters and various other merch) was used as the display face in the SPD PUB 44 annual and will be available to buy soon!
Brent's work can regularly be seen in the pages of Wired, the New York Times, Texas Monthly and Field & Stream to name a few! Check out Andrew Hetherington's Q&A with Brent from last year which documents the photographer's many sojourns to France following le tour, some technical insites ("My grip has become too damn tight in many ways and the tour makes me go "velvet glove"") and info on how to rock the one piece dickies jumpsuit in yellow like you own it! (The cameo in this Q&A of dallas based photographer Fredrik Broden in a space age silver work out suit is worth the price of entry alone!)
