From the Desk of ... Ken DeLago
Welcome to FTDO (From the Desk of...), a new series that answers the question "What IS all of that crap on your desk?"

Up next, Ken DeLago, DD at Condé Nast's Golf Digest.

1) Nothing like a tight color palette, huh? Looks like you've limited yourself to every color known to man.

Like Fred Woodward used to say, "If you can't make it good, make it big. If you can't make it big, make it colorful." But what I end up doing is following Rogers Black's lead: "The first color is white. The second color is black. The third color is red."

2) Looks like you shot this photo early in your day (the lava hasn't melted). Is that glowing red light on your phone as ominous as it looks?

The lava lamp usually kicks in around 10 am and that's when all the magic starts to happen. As for the phone, I hardly use that thing anymore. Most contact is through email. I think that red light has been glowing since '06.

3) The speaker light is on--what's flowing out of your Altec-Lansings?

Streaming internet radio, 24/7. Mostly KEXP and WFUV's Alternate Side.

4) I'd think that being a bigwig at Condé Nast would guarantee you fresh Sharpies every day. What's with the nubbie?

Not being in 4X2 has it perks. This is not one of them.

5) Uh, forget something?

Couldn't live without my stickies. Long list of illustrators I'd like to hire, pages that need to be shipped, movies to be seen, and tee times.

Here's what else is filling Ken's office:
