Design Internship

SKI Magazine is currently accepting applications for an intern to assist the art department in page layout and related tasks. We are looking for a hard-working, outgoing individual who is available 3 days a week, Monday through Friday, for a total of about 20 hours. School credit may be earned if the student chooses to arrange it.

Art Intern

Food Network Magazine (Hearst Corporation) is seeking a graphic design student for a summer internship in the Art Department. The intern will assist in the daily workflow of the magazine. Duties will include: updating layouts, minor imaging work, and some design.

Candidates should have an interest in magazine publishing, strong working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop. Interest in food a plus.

Duration: April-August

Graphic Designer, The Penn Stater Magazine

The Penn Stater magazine seeks a skilled graphic designer to help design and produce a bimonthly magazine. Duties include designing magazine sections and occasional features; conducting photo research; preparing digital files for prepress; formatting print content and optimizing images for online use; trafficking files through the production process; and participating in brainstorming and planning discussions with art director and editorial staff. The magazine staff is creative, team-oriented, and committed to producing one of the best publications of its kind.

Freelance basis 3-5 years of interactive experience

Strong visual and interactive conceptual thinking

A solid understanding of designing intuitive website functionality, user interfaces, and navigation.

Able to define the look and feel of sites.

Strong communication skills.

Knowledge of Flash a huge plus.

Esquire Magazine- Photo Intern

Esquire Magazine seeks an intern for their photo department. This person will work closely with the photo and art department to gain vital magazine experience working in a fast-paced environment.

The position is for college credit only (there is no stipend) and is part-time: approx. 10 am - 6 pm/3 days per week.

Job duties will include, but are not limited to:
•Helping with photography research
•Calling in products for photo shoots
•Help with prop scouting for photo shoots
•Photo returns
•Sending issues out to contributors
•Light administrative work (copies, faxing, filing, sending messengers)
