Interactive Designer-Freelance

Hollywoodlife.com is looking for a freelance designer to work with the Creative Director on the launch of the site. Person must be a creative, experienced, self-starter who can handle all of the following: -Working with a CMS such as Wordpress. -Writing CSS to create custom modules. -Creating mocks using Indesign, then transferring them to layered PSD files. -Creating Ads for the site. -Capturing and editing video using Final Cut Express and EyeTV. Assistant Art Director

Rodale is looking for a young designer to take on the project of designing the Women's Health Hot Body Yoga App for the iPhone.  We are looking for a talented visual designer, with a great eye for branding, and style.  This person should be comfortable with: -photoshop and illustrator -creating graphic elements from scratch as well as working with existing items. -working from wireframes to understand userflow -general familiarity with the iPhone -creating final deliverables will be layered PSD files of several screens in the app -some interactive design experience would help, but is not neccesary We are able to offer $500 compensation for this project. Graphic Design Internship

Prestigious National Women's Magazine looking for qualified Intern for Design/Art Department. The position is full time (10am-6pm) five days a week. Applicants should be college graduates with a degree in Design. Experience in InDesign is a must. This is a great opportunity to learn from the inside how a magazine operates. Under the direction of the Managing Art Director, this position is accountable for the creation of art for articles and pictorials for PLAYBOY, selection of artists and overall representation of the graphic position of the magazine. This position interacts throughout the Editorial Division internally and with stat houses and art institutes externally. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Review complex editorial manuscripts and make recommendations regarding the creation of graphic resolutions for editorial pieces. 2. Design and layout visuals, supervising the keylining to ensure proper preparation of artwork for Production. 3. Works with the Photo Department to produce several major pictorials each year. 4. Makes numerous changes to his designs by working with Art, Photo, and Editorial. 5.Coordinate with the Editorial, Photo, Copy and Production Departments to ensure effective communication of ideas and changes in order to ensure the timely and quality completion of artwork and design. 6. Primary back-up to Managing Art Director in the incumbent's absence.
