Head designer
New hip-hop magazine/newspaper seeks designer I'm an editor starting up a new magazine/newspaper. I'm putting together the content, I'm looking for someone to be the head designer for the magazine... and, following on from that, the look of the website. The brief is simple. What I'm trying to put together is a hip-hop magazine (think a newspaper with a magazine philiosophy) filled with long articles and literate writing. Visually, I think it should look as if it's the in-house mag of a Paris fashion house. The fonts, the layout, photos - high art. Something like "Monocle" or "Acne Paper" is a good example in terms of aesthetic - not necessarily design, though. Think beautiful with a hard edge. What I'm offering is complete freedom. I want to let you have your way with the visual side of our business, and I'd like to develop a relationship with the designer that lasts for a good while. I'm looking for a 50% partner, not a hired gun. This would be great for someone who is ambitious, detail-oriented, doesn't want to wait decades to get the good jobs, and possibly loves Sean Price. Anything is doable for a person with passion.
