Creative Director, Creative Loafing/Atlanta

The newly created Creative Director position at Creative Loafing/Atlanta will oversee all phases of the creative process to produce high-quality design -- primarily for the print publication while also overseeing Web design. In addition to producing distinctive design for the publication's cover and internal pages each week, he or she also will provide creative direction for the publication's marketing, public relations and advertising designs. The CD will report to the Publisher and Editor and will serve as liaison to CL's central Creative Services division in the production of editorial pages, marketing materials and client advertisements. He or she will work closely with the Editor to ensure that the Editor's vision is translated into vivid and distinctive design. The Creative Director also will work with the publication's Online Producer to design web products, services and content pages. Responsibilities: The CD will lead the development of all customer-facing creative and must understand and apply brand strategies in the execution of assignments. He or she must be able to think strategically and help shape compelling design and communications that break through clutter. The CD will work on a variety of platforms: · Print Creative -- The CD will oversee or execute the design of each weekly issue, with special attention to the cover. He or she will be responsible for a compelling visual product that will capture the attention of readers and accurately express the publication's brand identity. · Digital and Web Development -- The CD will help create websites for new digital products, with involvement in the process from conception through development. He or she will coordinate with internal and external developers to achieve cost-effective high-quality results that integrate well with current digital initiatives. · Digital Solutions/Social Media Champion -- The CD will possess a passion for digital media and communications. He or she will have demonstrated experience with social media platforms such as Twitter, Linked-In, Facebook, and You-Tube to drive brand relationships and traffic. · Branding -- In coordination with the Marketing Director, the CD will help oversee implementation of publication branding. He or she will understand and champion the building of the brand through creative that builds brand awareness.

Designer - Print/Web

The Designer - Print/Web is responsible for creating and developing the design of online content and assisting in the production of the journey books, adult guides, and badge handbooks, with the intent to engage girls in fun, values-based, experiential learning. She/he will contribute to the distinctive look and feel of content for each of the six grade levels, keeping in mind the need for a unified design for all Girl Scout program-related experiences. The designer will also help translate these experiences to Girl Scouts of the USA's online girl engagement strategy, and will work with the editorial team and other national headquarters staff to ensure that all program materials are exceptional in design, easy to use, and easily distributed. She/he collaborates and synchronizes efforts with the Girl Scout Merchandise division, making certain that design elements of print and online materials can be leveraged across all lines of business. The Role Bloomberg Businessweek is seeking an infographics designer and visual journalist who can navigate raw numbers and visualize data in a range of forms, from small spot business charts to large, data-rich graphics. The successful candidate will collaborate with an editorial team in creating innovative visualizations of data and story ideas. A curiosity about and an understanding of the financial markets and the ability to think creatively about presentations within this subject matter will be a focal point of the job. Art Director, Everyday Food

Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia is currently looking for an Art Director for Everyday Food Magazine. Under the guidance of the Editor in Chief, this highly creative position will be charged with directing and evolving the visual aspects of the magazine.

Responsibilities:
-Work with the Editor in Chief to direct and evolve the visual aspects of Everyday Food
-Direct, research, and manage photo shoots, graphics, layouts and art production for Everyday Food Magazine
-Work directly with the EIC, Art, Style, Edit, and Online departments to communicate editorial content
-Develop and maintain brand visuals
-Lead the Everyday Food Art Dept., working with the EIC, Managing Editor, Style, Copy, and Production departments to meet monthly photography, production, and copy deadlines
-Provide visual content ideas for other areas of the company including TV, Books, and Retail when needed.
-Manage and actively mentor members of the art department of Everyday Food
-Review color separation proofs with the Managing Editor, Art Production and Print Quality Director, as directed by Everyday Food EIC.
-Oversee and monitor project budgets against guidelines provided by the CFO and EVP Creative Director as related to activities under the Everyday Food EIC
-Undertake and oversee art direction of digital magazine platform
-Supervise the Photo Editor and Associate Art Director(s) reporting to this position as well as hire, train and mentor new employees in these positions
-Find and hire freelance stylists as necessary
