Design Director - Money

Money Magazine has an immediate opening for a Design Director. This person will work collaboratively with the editors and photo editors to create design solutions that are smart, fresh and informative. We are looking for someone with at least 10 years of publication design experience, including staff management and cover art direction. Experience in infographics is desired. An interest and/or experience in digital publishing is a definite plus. The ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines and remain flexible is essential. Freelance Junior Designer

A freelancer to design assets and materials for entertainment website in NYC launching in September under the direction of Art Director and working with creative team. Good Housekeeping Magazine 2010 Fall Art Intern

Good Housekeeping Magazine is looking for a 2010 summer Art Intern. The right candidate will hold many of the same responsibilities as a full-time staff member, including concepting art for stories, collaborating with the editorial and photo staff, and designing smart, attractive layouts. Leading entertainment news website is seeking a talented art director who will complete a site overhaul already in progress and lead design direction for the future. The candidate will also work with the print design team to create a unified visual identity for the brand. S/he must be eager to stay current with the quickly evolving online universe and have passion for the EW brand. Experience Candidate will have at least 5 years' experience designing for large-scale, CSS-controlled websites and must also have a background in magazine design. Experience with user-interface principles, information architecture, and SEO, as well as standard Web product-development processes, is critical. A history of working with sales, marketing, and business development teams is a plus. Experience designing mobile websites and/or apps is also preferred. The ideal candidate will be a resourceful, collaborative team player with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience working for a monthly newsstand magazine. Job responsibilities include designing pages for all departments of the magazine, from front-of-book sections and lifestyle pieces to feature stories and fashion spreads. Experience in conceptualizing, assigning and art directing illustrations and information graphics a must. This individual has excellent typographic and design skills and should excel at working both independently as well as in a collaborative team environment. We are seeking a designer to join our talented, energetic staff based in Birmingham, Alabama. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 years of magazine editorial experience.
