Freelance Designer

  Freelance Designer, Complex Magazine/Complex.com Complex Magazine is seeking a freelance designer to join the art department immediately. Primary responsibilities include working closely with the assistant art director (and editorial team) to conceptualize and design magazine sections, help develop treatments for content transitioning from the magazine to Complex.com, and designing web layouts and skins for Complex.com. Applicants must have a degree in graphic design or comparable experience (magazine publishing a plus, but not essential), the willingness to work with the creative input of others, ability to work under deadline and multitask, and a genuine interest in Complex's subject matter. Candidate must be well versed in typography and must be proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Web experience is mandatory. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Create graphics and icons for print and web • Commission and work with illustrators • Assist on photo shoots • Hands-on knowledge of web standards and web capabilities Knowledge in the following areas will receive special consideration: • Working knowledge of CSS and XHTML • Pixel perfect designs in Photoshop • Knowledge of reach-media techniques and limitations Please send your resumes to: jobs@complex.com, Please write Freelance Designer in subject line.
