  • Job Requirements: Responsibilities: • Scheduling - Work with the Project Management Team in establishing production related schedules for print projects. • Estimating - Provide accurate and timely specifications and written estimates from production related vendors - (competitively bid to three vendors) for ongoing project work and business development. • Production Management - Responsible for "end to end" production related requirements including developing specifications, ordering paper, managing proofing and printer, bindery and any required press approvals. • Fulfillment / Postal Management / Shipping Management - Responsible for management and requirements associated with the distribution, mailing and/or shipping of printed materials. • Efficiencies - get the most from project budgets by creating innovative solutions around print, manufacturing, and shipping, and by leveraging Story buying power. • Management and Selection of Junior Staff and Freelance Help - Responsible for an annual freelance budget - to cover workflow peaks. Select and manage freelancers as needed. • Education and advocacy - Keep teams and organization informed of latest trends in editorial and other integrated print campaigns. Develop awareness and appreciation of the print channel in our multi-channel approach. • Travel- Occasional travel between Seattle and New York offices required. Project Work: • Serve as member of various project teams as Production Director. • Lend expertise and leadership to print projects ranging from web press long run magazines to sheet-fed short run DM and collateral to short run digital books. Skills & Knowledge Requirements: • Flat plan creation and updating • Ad Trafficking • Create and maintain manufacturing and production schedules •Estimate and order printed Inserts • Translate and create issue version matrix from client data counts • Create press instructions including version grids • Reconciliation of all outside vendor invoicing • Manage Paper Inventory as needed • Familiarity with list management and personalization options • Familiarity with postage requirements • Create and maintain budgeting / cost documentation • Work with photo retouching and color correction personnel • Review, comment and sign off on approval proofs • Manage DBL proofing • Attend press checks as needed • Streamline interoffice work flow • Work with client procurement as needed • Advise organization and clients on CMS as needed • Work with creative staff to create and sustain a positive, collaborative environment. • Contribute to Story Worldwide off-sites and other meetings as content advocate.
