This position will report to the Senior Director of Strategic Communications and Public Affairs and will oversee the Brand Identity and Design division, Institutional Communications division and Editorial staff.

All applicants who share this goal are encouraged to apply. • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field, advanced degree is preferred • Minimum of 10 years of increasingly progressive responsibility in Marketing and Communications • Understanding of current-state publishing and content dissemination modalities: digital and app magazine functionality and its impact on magazine editorial and design approach • Understanding of current-state digital publications approaches including intersection with social media • Experience leading one or more successful national or niche magazines to influential audiences, with responsibility for content strategy, editorial and creative execution • Experience with academic, intellectual leadership, alumni organizations and medical industries and/or environments, preferably in academic medicine • Ability to interact directly with leadership at the highest level as needed for editorial planning and direction • Proven ability to partner with or oversee creative direction for publication content • Proven management, collaboration and team spirit experience leading a team of editorial and production staff • Experience planning for and deploying content that incorporates rich media, visual storytelling, informational and other illustrative visual approaches and social media integration • Additional experience outside the field of medicine or university press preferred
