  • Job Description:
    An editorial operations coordinator works with the Manager and Director of Editorial Operations on trafficking layouts, editorial articles, art, photos and other content through the Magazine's editorial system. Editorial Operations coordinators are chiefly responsible for managing and sending color and photos to Production for processing; combining text articles with corresponding layouts; styling of copy within layouts per the design department's specifications; making corrections to layouts & proofing stories as well as archiving editorial material. Coordinators are also tasked with creating and distributing PDF files of layouts for approval, tracking documents' progress through the system and exercising quality control to ensure that layouts meet the production standards.

  • Job Requirements: Responsibilities - Using Adobe InDesign & the K4 publishing system, traffics documents and makes adjustments/corrections to the specifications of the art and editorial departments. - Ensures quality control of magazine content, making sure that all pages meet specifications/guidelines set by Management, Art and Copy Edit departments. - Coordinates text/layout revisions with story and copy editors and research as well as with design, photo and production departments. - Facilitates problem-solving for editors within the magazine's publishing system, offering solutions for technical problems as they arise. Basic Qualifications - Minimum of one year of experience in a similar publishing position. - Good working knowledge of Macintosh platform. - Facility with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, K4 Publishing system, Universal Type Client and related publishing software. - Must perform well and without error in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. - Must have an excellent eye for detail. - Familiarity with major pro and college sports. Preferred Education - Preferred to have a Bachelor’s degree, related to design, graphic arts or production.
