    Art Director, Bon Appétit Overview/Purpose Bon Appetit is looking for an ambitious rock star AD who is a design perfectionist and an artist at heart to come in and make a statement. This is for someone who loves the best of current magazine service design but also wants to do something different. Working with the Creative Director, you will have the opportunity to push your design vision across all sections of the magazine as well as any other mediums including but not limited to: tablet, phone, web, apps and books. Candidates need to be great at magazine section and packaging design. A serious interest in hand-lettering, illustration, painting, print making and just generally "making things" is a must. Primary Responsibilities The Art Director will work closely with the Creative Director, the photo department and editors to establish the overall design direction of the magazine. In addition to being an outstanding hands-on designer, this Art Director must have strong leadership and communication skills. You will lead a team of 3 designers through multiple on-going timelines, be self-motivated with a positive attitude. You are able to inspire and provide mentorship in all areas of design. Overall, you are a fresh thinker who embraces challenges as well as new methods of thinking. Requirements 5+ years of magazine experience Must be an incredibly hard worker Visual arts background a plus
