Digital Designer, Runner's World

  • Job Description:
    Rodale is seeking a talented digital designer to create clean, elegant and engaging presentations for the Runner's World website and other online assets. This person will be involved in the design of several new initiatives, as well as existing programs and projects. He or she will work closely with the digital editorial group and developers, and with the magazine's design director to extend print design elements to the online space.  This role will be based at our Emmaus, PA offices.

    Responsibilities:

    ·         Engage and delight the Runner's World audience with smart, creative design.

    ·         Actively participate in the entire process of design work - from conception to execution.

    ·         Offer suggestions and solutions to improve user experience from a design standpoint.

    ·         Focus efforts on the website and mobile assets. Additional duties may involve tablet design.

    ·         Help create wireframes and bring them to fruition.

    ·         Present data, text, photos and other elements to tell stories and provide information in non-traditional ways.

    ·         Compose elements such as navigation, column headers, buttons, and icons throughout the website.

    ·         Illustrate / compile art for exclusive digital content.

  • Job Requirements: · A superior sense of design · Strong portfolio showing a variety of work in web design · Demonstrated ability to convey information in an effective visual way · Experience working with HTML and CSS · Degree in graphic design or equivalent work experience · Strong Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator and Acrobat skills · Good organizational skills
