Wide Format Production Manager

  • Job Description:
    Work in a very "hands - on and customer focused" environment with artists and photographers providing fine art reproduction and related services. Excellent customer service is a basic requirement from an ideal candidate. Supervise and participate within a small team and monitor multiple projects through completion. Coordinate staff schedules and material / supply requirements. Maintain quality-control standards and advance company goals, working closely with owners / operators as integral part of management team. We are looking for a reliable, good team player looking to grow and advance their career. Prior customer service and/or sales experience preferable. Applicant must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This person will have opportunity to participate and contribute in company growth and goal-setting. Precise attention to detail and accuracy required along with the ability and responsibility to complete multiple assignments on time. General office skills, some project assembly that will include trimming, mounting, canvas stretching and light housekeeping duties as required. Organize, delegate and monitor the flow of print projects through completion. Check schedules, confirm product specifications, arrange adjustments, monitor the quality of the product and ensure deadlines are met. Assist team in prepping final files, approving and proofing projects, organizing final work flow, coordinating delivery of projects, and assisting in the overall work load for the imaging team.

  • Job Requirements: Experience and formal training in large format studio photography /studio lighting / high resolution scan / capture of fine original artwork, post processing, proofing, image editing and color correction. Excellent Photoshop editing skills required - Must be well-versed and experience in using color management / color correction tools and techniques. Graphic Design / artistic skills are NOT required. * Customer assistance and order intake with full explanation of processes, options and benefits. * Assisting and orchestrating the preparation of digital files and / or output according to the clients requirements. * Create and manage print production schedules. • Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance as required. Basic IT responsibilities regarding LAN network, computer and software. * Oversee and examine finished projects and approve before delivery to client. • Monitor and maintain file archives and back ups. Desired Skills: * Ability to build and maintain good rapport with new and existing customers. * Ability to multi-task and utilize resources to execute tasks within a deadline oriented environment. * Flexible & adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. * A strong understanding of branding, customer relations and business goals. * Excellent communication and organizational skills, both verbal & written. * Capable of working independently and/or take direction as necessary. Desired Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years experience in a print production environment. * Practical work experience with fine art and photographic digital printing and pre-press RIP. * Experience with studio lighting and high resolution image capture and post-processing. * Strong attention to detail and workflow to effectively track order status within the production process. * Extensive experience in PhotoShop, especially in all color-correction methods. * Accurate and detailed evaluation of color accuracy. * Commitment to ongoing workflow improvements, initiatives, and ability to solve problems creatively. * Highly motivated and high level of initiative; inspires confidence to work independently and in support of department goals and business objectives.
