    Washingtonian magazine, located in Washington, DC, is currently seeking a motivated and talented Assistant Photo Editor to join its art team. The ideal candidate will have the chance to make an impact on our award-winning suite of publications: Washingtonian magazine, Washingtonian Bride & Groom, Washingtonian Mom and Washingtonian Welcome Guide. Responsibilities include assigning shoots, researching stock photos, submitting imagery for color, inputing page credits, and other administrative duties. Candidates must have at 2-5 years of publishing experience and a love of photography. This position requires a keen eye for detail and strong multitasking and organizational skills.

  • Job Requirements: Qualifications: -BA or BS degree along with 2+ years of professional experience in stock photography, photo journalism, or photo editing. -Understanding of usage rights and experience in negotiating image fees -Solid magazine, newspaper, or picture agency experience preferred -Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, InCopy and inDesign -Ability to work independently in a fast paced, deadline driven environment -You have excellent communication skills and can communicate your ideas in a lively, collaborative environment. -Excellent organizational skills and a clear-headed multitasker. -Knowledge of copyright, licenses and permissions a plus
