    The Part-Time Assignment Editor I coordinate the activities of staff and freelance reporters and associated production and technical personnel providing visual sports and news coverage and program materials for ESPN's networks; communicates with reporters on assignments; coordinates remote and studio events. This project will last approximately one year. Anywhere. - Coordinates the details and logistics of news gathering projects assigned by the Coordinating Producer - Coordinates the gathering of story-related materials, e.g., sound and video - Participates in the planning for assigned projects - Participates in preparing rundowns of news stories and assignment sheets - Operates within the context of well defined, specific assignments; implements assigned projects independently with regular guidance from Coordinating Producer - Assignment Desk - Assigned to standard news projects; assists on complex, new and innovative projects - Coordinates routine sports news stories independently with regular guidance from the responsible Coordinating Producer - Work is subject to close and regular review by the responsible Coordinating Producers at regular intervals - Ability to coordinate sports news stories; coordinates the field production of news stories, from concept to execution - Mastery of the sports reporting and new packaging processes and the ability to coordinate the creation and production of assigned sports news stories - Knowledge of real-time sports news productions - Basic currency regarding technological advances in remote and studio production and electronic news gathering - A minimum of 3-years of progressively complex related production experience - Fundamental knowledge of sports and sports history - Appreciation of popular culture, e.g., "what's cool" and assists with defining the tastes of ESPN's viewers - Understanding of ESPN's editorial policies and strategies - High School Diploma or equivalent - College Degree preferred Imagine a career with an organization that brings smiles to millions every day.
