The job: The Senior Food Editor, will help shape the food & entertaining vision for Southern Living leading the charge at the signature Southern brand within the Time Inc. portfolio. This is a key role for an experienced food editor who is excited by the chance to mobilize a team around big ideas, projects, and packages. You will: • Pitch, package and produce seasonal food and entertaining stories across platforms and pillars for features, section leads and monthly columns and traffic-generating digital campaigns • Own and edit the food section of the magazine • Mentor junior staff in pitching, packaging, reporting and writing • Utilize your network of talented freelancers and tastemakers, finding creative, relevant angles for them to contribute to our brand • Work with our General Manager to monitor workflows, especially from the perspective of junior editors • Meet every deadline, every time - and work with junior staff to do the same • Generate multiple pieces of digital content every month You are: • Experienced magazine editor: You can map out 15 months of seasonal food content at a time. You are inspired by great packaging and come with the knowledge and experience needed to plan and pull off inspired packaging youYou willrself. You have superior editing, writing and reporting skills. • Leader with a vision: You take abstract ideas and transform them into compelling, robust packages. You are part diplomat, part project manager. You can motivate groups of people and bring them together to execute ambitious projects. You get things done. You enjoy teaching and mentoring.
