WIRED is looking for a creative, fun, enthusiastic photography lover with an excellent eye for visuals to join our award-winning photo department. The ideal candidate has approximately five years' experience with photo research and photo editing for either print or online publications and has a plentiful inventory of photographic and art resources. Experience with managing social media is a plus. A photography degree is preferred. This position will report to the Director of Photography.   Responsibilities: -          Develop and refine editorial and visual voice for WIRED Photo vertical on WIRED.com -          Produce 1 to 2 WIRED Photo posts per week: manage pitches, approvals, contracts, and budget -          Point person and traffic control for photo workflow on WIRED.com - Oversee photo research team; provide feedback and guidance on image selection -          Develop and maintain WIRED brand vision -          Photo editing and image sourcing for fast-paced daily news environment -          Oversee photo usage on social media (Snapchat, Instagram, etc.) -          Research new photographer talent - Photoshop and retouching skills a plus -          Deputy to Senior Photo Editor  

Photo Researcher-temp

Award-winning, technology magazine IEEE Spectrum (spectrum.ieee.org) is offering a wonderful opportunity for a freelance photo research temp. Responsibilities include (but not limited to) obtaining and/or creating imagery for blogs, photo research (monthly print and online editions), collating and keyword-tagging images for digital assets management system, assisting the creation of videos, and color correction and retouching. The majority of the work will be photo research. This temporary in-house position requires a commitment of 24 hours per week (3 days per week), over a period of 12 weeks.

Freelance Designer (part-time), WIRED

The Innovation Collection at Condé Nast is looking for a freelance designer to assist our team on the advertising/marketing side (NOT editorial). The designer would work on-site at our office 3-4 days a week through January. The Innovation Collection includes GQ, WIRED, Golf, Pitchfork, Ars Technica, and Backchannel. The ideal candidate should have3+ years of experience in the professional world. Projects include designing marketing, branding, and experiential event collateral, as well as digital units. The designer should be able to take ideas from concept to execution, be comfortable with production (print and digital), and collaborate well with a team. This position is in an extremely fast-paced environment where prioritization, communication, and organizational skills are essential. Must have a positive "can do" attitude and be willing to wear a lot of hats.

Art director

Foreign Policy is seeking a versatile and passionate art director to help define and execute FP's evolving visual brand across all of our platforms. While the position will be primarily focused on producing and commissioning outstanding editorial visuals for ForeignPolicy.com and our 46-year-old print edition, ideal candidates will be eager to create (and ideally have experience with) original assets and identities for FP's events, custom content solutions for clients, and useful, engaging publications for FP Analytics, our research division. This will be a full-time position based in our Washington, D.C., office that reports to FP's chief creative officer.
