Assistant Art Director-Runner's World

Runner's World is seeking an Assistant Art Director for its Emmaus, PA office. We are looking for a creative individual who will bring energy, dedication, creativity, and passion to our magazine. Under the guidance of the Design Director and Deputy Art Director, the candidate will design editorial pages (FOB, BOB, some features), direct illustration assignments, make color corrections, and assist on production for photo shoots as needed. Photo Director - Runner's World

Rodale Inc. is currently seeking a Photo Director for their Runner's World magazine, located in Emmaus, PA. This position reports to the Design Director. Must be a creative and conceptual thinker with a sophisticated eye and strong visual point of view to help steer the imagery for this monthly title.

This position will entail management of the staff and daily operations of the photo department, including: -Conceptualizing photo treatments with Design Director, designers, and editors to illustrate stories in all sections of the magazine. -Researching, pitching, and assigning photographers for all sections of the magazine. This requires knowledge of all areas of photography including lifestyle, conceptual, still life, portrait, action, reportage. -Producing photo shoots: casting and hiring talent, hiring and managing stylists and prop designers, securing locations and permits, orchestrating shoot logistics, selecting wardrobe, scouting, and all aspects of production. -Attending key shoots to ensure the magazine's vision is carried out (some travel involved). -Identifying photographers that should be working for the magazine -Hiring and overseeing freelance photo-researchers and/or producers. -Managing and maintaining the photography budget.

Tablet Production Coordinator

Rodale is currently seeking a highly detail oriented technology savvy Tablet Production Coordinator to join the Healthy Living group in the New York City office. The candidate will be a key partner in the production of the tablet editions of Men's Health, Women's Health and Prevention. Key Responsibilities: • Assisting with the creation of special features for the Men's Health, Women's Health and prevention Tablet digital editions • Working with editors to compile page information • Assisting with edit changes to InDesign pages • Create new ways to improve the the Rodale tablet experience • Coordinating with video producers in for Bonus content • Coordinating with Advertising production to facilitate the creation of the Ad pages and ordering of advertising • Updating images and information on the iTunes news stand Ideal candidate will possess: • A minimum of 2 to 4 years of related work experience • A passion for magazines on the tablet format and technology in general • A flexible and energetic working style • Creative problem solving skills • A proactive communicator and problem solver • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel
