Senior Designer - Cooking Light

COOKING LIGHT is part of Time Inc. and is the largest epicurean magazine in the US. We are looking for a DESIGNER for the BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA office who would be working for the new Creative Director in NYC and with the Art Director in Alabama. A minimum of 3 years magazine editorial design experience is required. This individual should be interested in food, nutrition and human interest stories. The perfect candidate has a strong sense of classic typography and knows a beautiful, stylish and delicious food photograph when they see one. This designer would be helping us refine the recent redesign and push the magazines visuals to new heights. They would also be creating dynamic and fresh layouts for the front and back of book, assigning illustration, and art directing some photoshoots. We need a very responsible person and who would pay serious attention to detail. Expert knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and illustrator is required.

TIME Magazine has an immediate opening for a Information Graphics Designer with strong journalism skills who can present news information in a simple, creative and visually interesting way. Must work efficiently on deadline using illustrative, photographic, cartographic or typographic solutions on a variety of topics. The ideal candidate should be a detail-oriented collaborator and an enthusiastic follower of current events. Deputy Art Director- Money

Time Inc. is seeking a Deputy Art Director for Money magazine. This is a number 3 position. Under the guidance of the Design Director and Art Director, the candidate will design editorial pages for all sections of the magazine, assign illustration, help direct photography, and work closely with editors to design info-graphics. The ideal person will have excellent typographic and composition skills and a flare for the organization of complex data into clear, engaging graphics and charts. We are also hoping to to find someone who is capable of, and enjoys, designing small icons and simple spot illustrations as needed throughout the book.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 4-5 years magazine experience (experience at a financial magazine a plus but not required)
- advanced layout and typography skills
- mastery of InDesign, PhotoShop and Illustrator
- basic illustration skills
- detail oriented and highly motivated
- ability to conceptualize ideas that are smart, inspire and provoke
