Nomad Editions, a NYC digital magazine publisher, is looking for full-time and freelance DESIGNERS to format layouts for the iPad and other mobile devices.

Nomad Editions currently publishes three weekly digital magazines--Uncorked (wine), BodySmart (fitness/diet) and Real Eats (food)--and has many other mobile projects in development.

Job Requirements: Full command of CS5 InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Mag+ or WoodWing experience required. Must be skilled at formatting and tightening layouts, creating style sheets, creating and working with templates, flowing text and linking images -- all done fast and accurately.  Web, CMS and HTML experience a plus.

Associate Creative Director - Sports

The Associate Creative Director will be over see the creative design of sports marketing collaterals and presentations for USA Today Sports Media Group.  The Associate Creative Director will interact with all divisions within USA Today Sports Media Group to build multi-platform multimedia presentations. The Associate Creative Director will manage internal and external design assets for the marketing of the Sports Group.

Money Magazine - Freelance Art Director

Money Magazine has an opening for a Freelance Art Director for a 12 week period to work on the print and tablet editions of the magazine starting mid February.

What we're looking for:
This mid-level designer will report to the art director and will manage front of the book, departments and some features for both print and tablet editions of the magazine. Responsibilities include design of sections, assigning of illustration, conceptualizing of shoots and the design of charts/graphics/complex data. The ideal candidate is someone who is a strong designer with a great sense of typography and packaging with a passion for magazines and an strong interest in tablet design.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field.
- 5 years consumer magazine experience.
- Sophisticated sense of design, photography, and typography.
- Great working relationship with illustrators.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Assistant Art Director, Good Housekeeping

This is a fantastic opportunity for a designer ready to move to the next step at one of the country's largest-circulation womens' magazines. We are looking for someone who is passionate about magazines in general, and women's magazines in particular.

Responsibilities include start-to-finish ownership of front-of-book and back-of-book
pages including developing smart concepts, art directing in-house photo shoots, and
producing beautifully designed production-ready layouts. The ability to work in a
collaborative environment is essential. Specific responsibilities include:

Sketching and/or comping up visual solutions and pulling swipe for art planning meetings

Propping and styling for in-house photo shoots

Attending product run-throughs and overseeing in-house shoots

Researching photos

Designing of a number of sections and reporting on their status

Acting as liaison with outside publishing companies to facilitate the redesign of GH brand books and/or packaging

Helping design logos and marks for the magazine

Coordinating the Art Department intern program

The job entails conceptualizing, designing and executing creative beauty packaging solutions for our fast-paced retail company. This is a full-time position with full benefits.

- Work with the Director of 3D and Art Director to create the most effective graphic solution for each seasonal giftset flight while integrating the overall design direction from Victoria's Secret Intimates

Art Director, UCLA

The Art Director leads the in-house design team responsible for the design and production of the quarterly UCLA Magazine, as well as design projects and marketing campaigns for clients on campus. Projects include invitations and brochures, newspaper and magazine ads, admissions packets, signs and banners, and other marketing materials. While the emphasis is on print, some campaigns include a web or email component. On the magazine, the Art Director will work with the Design Director and Senior Designer to conceptualize and commission photography and illustration, design stories, and oversee the entire pre-press and proofing process. Successful candidates should have at least five years experience with the day-to-day workflow of magazines and significant hands-on experience with art directing photo shoots and illustration assignments. Also requires a sophisticated mastery of typography and graphic design techniques, primarily using Adobe Creative Suite on the Macintosh platform, to create and supervise the creation of effective materials.
