Production Coordinator - Cooking Light

Production Coordinator - Cooking Light Posting Job Description Cooking Light is looking for a full-time editorial production coordinator with three years minimum experience working in publication editorial, other print, and tablet production. Will independently manage production of magazine's tablet editions and work as part of the print magazine production team. Candidate must be technologically savvy, detail oriented, well organized, and highly collaborative, with an editorial sensibility and sharp critical thinking skills. Must be able to manage and enforce deadlines throughout print production and tablet production cycles. Tablet: Work as an independent production unit within Cooking Light in partnership with Tablet Designer to create tablet and mobile phone versions of the print magazine. Duties include: •Create and implement tablet-edition production schedules with minimal supervision; will work closely with tablet designer(s), copy editor(s), and off-site imaging team. •Collaborate with tablet designer(s) and editor(s) to plan, implement, and organize bonus/exclusive tablet content. •Work with Consumer Marketing to produce tablet-related promotional assets. •Work with tablet designer(s) and imaging staff to request color corrections and review/correct tablet editions for consistency, accuracy, and functionality. •Collaborate with and digital staff to acquire, organize, and implement any necessary Digimarc- or tablet-related URLs. Print: •Assist in managing workflow of InCopy and InDesign files throughout production cycle(s). • Assist in creating and monitoring production schedules. •Serve as liaison to color separator during tablet production and assist as liaison to separator and printer during print production. •Coordinate creation and placement of all Digimarc watermark files into hi-res images; check functionality for all Digimarc watermarks. •Create, update, and manage network server files and WoodWing dossiers. •Create and update InDesign document templates, place text and images, maintain style sheets, prepare files for separator.

Art Director - Southern Living

Southern Living is currently seeking an experienced, motivated, and talented Art Director to join the magazine's editorial art team in Birmingham, AL. The art director will be responsible for the overall graphic look of the magazine, from photography and illustration to color, typography, and design. We are seeking a designer to join our talented, energetic staff based in Birmingham, Alabama. This key member of the art department should be able to work efficiently to meet firm deadlines, juggle multiple layouts at once, must be detail-oriented, have a strong sense of typography, and be willing to take direction. He or she will be creating dynamic, fresh layouts for all sections of the magazine, and assigning illustration. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of magazine editorial experience.
