Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia is currently seeking an Intern for the Editorial Crafts Department of Martha Stewart Living Magazine. This creative position will be responsible for assisting with tasks including organizing, shopping, crafting, sewing, and prepping photo shoots. The ideal candidate should have excellent crafting skills, be incredibly resourceful and comfortable traveling in and around New York City.
This department develops all aspects of the crafts content for Martha Stewart Living magazine. This position is an opportunity to learn about the workings of an editorial team in a very creative environment. Interns are involved with the research and development of new craft projects and "how-to" content, the photo shoot and photo styling process, and the organizational aspects of working in a busy studio environment.
We are open to candidates from all types of artistic backgrounds. Creativity, good craftsmanship skills and attention to detail are most important. However, candidates with machine and/or hand sewing skills or hand knitting skills are encouraged to apply. Please submit a resume and a URL with work samples or a PDF portfolio.
Interns should be available to work 2 or more days a week in our West Chelsea office between September and December 2011. We are willing to work around a school schedule and start and end dates are flexible. Candidates MUST have completed their Junior year of College or be enrolled in an advanced degree program and MUST be able to receive credit. We will pay a $20/day stipend.
