Photo Editor, Organic Gardening

Organic Gardening magazine is currently seeking a Photo Editor with a great eye for quality photography. The successful applicant will be self-reliant yet collaborative, hold a pro-active work attitude, and will enjoy being a part of a small, committed team. This position is located in Emmaus, PA.

It would be an advantage for the applicant to be fluent in color separation and correction processes and to be able to work collaboratively with the magazine's production dept to obtain the highest standards of print reproduction across all brand extensions.

Responsibilities include:
-Developing innovative concepts, assigning and producing photographic illustration for main edit features and front of book departments, working in close collaboration with the EIC, the Art Director and the other members of the edit, online and art team
-Coordinating and directing studio and location photo shoots for garden, food and lifestyle topics
-Identifying photographers and stylists who will bring a high quota of creative value to the brand
-Negotiating photography fees for both commissioned and stock-sourced images
-Acquiring first-quality imagery that meets the high content standards of the brand while maintaining budgets and negotiating effectively with vendors

Ideal candidate will possess:
-A minimum of five years of related work experience
-Highly detail oriented individual with good communication skills
-Digital online photo experience managing and researching stock imagery
-Daily photo production, retouching, and optimizing
-Adept at Adobe Photoshop
-Experience with Content Management Systems and keyword tagging
-Photo shoot coordination and experience a plus

Inked Magazine Photography Editor

Inked magazine is a fashion, celebrity and lifestyle magazine with a tattoo culture spin that is owned by the president of Nylon magazine. We are looking for a photo editor in our New York City office who will be responsible for the production of all original photography and the overseeing of stock images for all sections of the magazine. He or she will work closely with the creative director to bring fresh and dynamic visuals to the magazine.

Responsibilities include:
- Producing photo shoots: hiring models, hair, and makeup, securing locations and permits, orchestrating shoot logistics and all aspects of production.
- Conceptualizing photo treatments with creative director and illustrate stories in all sections of the magazine.
- Coordinating with photographers (and others as necessary) to ensure materials (rough edits and final hi-res) are delivered on deadline.
- Maintaining departmental budgets.
- Negotiating fees and overseeing all contracts.
- Assigning photographers for all sections of the magazine. This requires knowledge of all areas of photography including lifestyle, conceptual, still life, portrait, fashion.
- Attending key shoots to ensure the magazine's vision is carried out. (some travel involved)
- Overseeing small photo department and interns (including hiring interns)
- Maintaining and establishing relationships with photographers, stylists, modeling agencies, and agencies handling hair stylists and makeup artists.
- Identifying and developing relationships with photographers who should be working for the magazine.

Associate Photo Editor

photo touchups-full time work from home

Job Description: I am looking for someone to do some photo touchup work. i have around 2600 images of our product line that needs to be touched up, croped, and made sure the item is on a white backround. I basically would like to hire someone right away as i need this job to be started. This can be a one time gig but we do create around 300-500 new items every season. Around 2000 items per year, so this is ajob that someone can do a couple hours each night. WE ARE WILLING TO PAY BASED ON QUALITY OF WORK! Can you let me know a price if you are intrested, based on 100 images at a time. i will give you 2-4 images to try out, to see whats intailed and whats requested and so i can see what you can do as well.
