Happy Earth Day! The Greatest Environmental Magazine Covers

April 22 is the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, which was first held in 1970. Earth Day was conceived and organized by Wisconsin US Senator Gaylord Nelson. We've collected 11 of the greatest Earth Day and environmental action magazine covers, from 1970-present.

Happy Valentine's Day from the New Yorker

A beautifully-designed Valentine's Day cover used to be an annual event for many magazines. Today, with the exception of an occasional women's service mag, Valentine's Day has almost disappeared from the newsstands. Thank goodness for The New Yorker, which has done brilliantly illustrated Valentine's Day covers for over 70 years. This year, because of their publishing schedule, The New Yorker skipped Valentine's Day and did a very cool 85th anniversary series of covers. We missed their Valentine's cover, so we collected 19 of the greatest here to warm your hearts and the hearts of your loved ones.

Co-produced by Linda Rubes of Fortune magazine.
