Speaker Panel Profile: Scott Omelianuk, editor
In preparation for the event, we're highlighting each of the 6 panelists (all the easier for you to do a little research beforehand and come armed with questions for them, hint hint). Today, we're featuring editor Scott Omelianuk. Currently the editor-in-chief of This Old House magazine and the senior member of the management team of This Old House Ventures, Scott is a veteran media executive with experience in television, magazines, books, and web publishing...
Prior to his arrival at This Old House, Scott was a partner at Kaufman Films, where he co-produced several successful television specials. He has been executive editor of Esquire, Senior Editor of GQ and a consultant or contributor to magazines and newspapers including More, The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Details, and Men's Health.
Scott joined This Old House in 2004, and, under his direction, the magazine has garnered numerous awards including a silver Folio Award for Best Redesign and a Henry R. Luce Award citation for Special Interest Story. More recently the Chicago Tribune named This Old House to its Best Magazines list.
Currently at This Old House, he is leading the redesigning and repositioning of the print version of "America's most trusted home-improvement brand," which will be unveiled with the January issue. Last year he oversaw the re-launch of thisoldhouse.com, which is now the traffic leader in the home improvement category.
