And the Crowd Goes Wild!
A HUGE thanks to all our "all-star" speakers and staffers at yesterday's SPD U March (Design) Madness event! It was a great success, thanks to everyone who attended. For those of you who couldn't join us, we're hoping to post some video of it here soon, so keep an eye out for that.
And now, let's do the wave and give a thunderous round of applause to our speakers Courtney Brown (Real Simple Creative Studio), Darren Cox (Spotco), Michele Ervin (Popular Mechanics), Samantha Grass (Food Network Magazine), Mike Ley (Field & Stream), Shane Luitjens (INK Publishing), Nathalie Kirsheh (W), Andy Omel (Condé Nast Traveler), Paul Shrynemakers (Rodale), and Stephen Sullivan (freelance photographer), tour-givers David Schlow and the People staff, Kristin Fitzpatrick and the Marie Claire staff, and Nancy Campbell and the Symphony Publishing staff. And last but not least, super-big thanks to our coordinators and support staff Leah Bailey, Kimberly Sall, Emily Smith and Nancy Stamatopoulos.

Hi SPD Team,
Thanks for offering yet another fantastic event. The clarity and insight I gained from the wide array of speakers was great. I learned so much in my passion to one day art direct a fabulous magazine title. I met a few new friends and even gave out lots business cards. Oh, and my school colleague won an SPD book. Cheers!
Also, the tour of the Marie Claire offices was a great opportunity to view the inner workings of a large editorial team. However the tour to Symphony publishing, by contrast was a smaller environment, yet the creativity behind their aesthetic and creativity was just as inspiring.
Thanks for the opportunity, I look forward to seeing everyone at the next event.
