Spring Pub(lications) Crawl: Friday, April 9 Put on those little silver shoes and join us for a day of magazine office tours! Our Pub(lications) Crawl is a day-long event where you'll get to tour the offices of 2 awesome magazines and/or design firms. We've got Bust, Entertainment Weekly, Essence, GQ, and Nylon magazines as well as the Segal Savad design firm all ready to give you behind-the-scenes access. Come armed with your curiosity and questions, but leave the portfolios at home, please. RSVP by Tuesday night at 11:30 to reserve your spot. All the details (and registration) after the jump...

Friday, April 9, 2010 (RSVP deadline is 11:30pm Tuesday, April 6)
9:30 am - 4:00 pm (end time is approximate)
We'll start in the Union Square area, exact location to be given when you RSVP.

• FREE for all SPD Student Members! Just reserve a ticket using the form at the end of this post. (Remember, it's only $25 to join as a Student Member... if you join now or the day of the event, your admission will be FREE.)
• $10 for all SPD Professional members (buy tickets below)
• $15 for all others in advance (buy tickets below)

Buy/reserve your ticket by 11:30pm Tuesday, April 6, using the form at the end of this post. (Even if you're a student member, you must reserve a ticket below or you will not be allowed entry.)

When you buy/reserve your ticket, you will be asked for your tour preferences. Choose from these 3 tour choices:

PubTours32010.jpgYou will receive an email confirming your ticket purchase when you sign up below.

• a government-issued photo I.D. for access to office buildings
• money for lunch and possible subway travel (or bring your own lunch and metrocard)
• a notebook for notes and a bag since you'll be getting handouts and magazines
• umbrella/raingear and comortable shoes since we'll be walking to the different offices

Leave the résumés and portfolios at home... bring those to our Portfolio Workshop on March 24th instead.

Space is limited so RSVP asap! Your tour preferences are just that; in other words, they are not guaranteed. Tours are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis... so the earlier you RSVP, the better chance you have of getting your top choice. This also means that if you are part of a large group registering, you may not all get assigned the same tour. Also be aware that participating magazines are subject to change.
