Esquire, Lucky, and more: Meet Our 2014 Spotlight Judges, Part 1 The June 2 deadline (next MONDAY!!!) for our SPD-U Spotlight Online Gallery Show is coming fast, and our super-awesome panel of judges are ready and waiting to see all your amazing work. 

Remember, there are NO RULES for this one ... no fees either, it's TOTALLY FREE to enter! All you do is send us 3 of your best pieces of editorial design (any type of editorial design: magazines, newspapers, newsletters, books, journals, zines, brochures, tablet/digital mags, etc) ... you can enter anything you've designed since June 2013. Then our judges pick the best of the bunch and we showcase 'em here and everywhere we can, getting you and your work tons of exposure.

And now let's meet the first half of our amazing judges who will be looking at all your great work...

Coco Lloyd
Art Director, Lucky 
Coco knew she wanted to work at a magazine at age 14. Fast forward 20 years later, and she is currently the art director for Lucky, one of the most well-known fashion magazines in the industry. 
Growing up near Savannah, Georgia, she graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in Marketing and minor in Graphic Design. She moved to Los Angeles soon after college and began her career at several design agencies. She learned about branding, advertising, photography, and most importantly, great type! Helvetica is still the best font out there.
In 2011, she moved to New York City to work for InStyle magazine. She was there for 2 years under the creative direction of Rina Stone, one of the best experiences of her career. In 2013, Coco shifted over to Cosmopolitan under the leadership of the brilliant editor-in-chief, Joanna Coles. Now at Lucky, she continues to work with incredible people and make every issue better than the last.
She's currently obsessed with sunglasses, succulents, Jamaica, overalls, Iggy Azalea, Bon Appetit & W magazine.

Stravinski Pierre
Art Director, Esquire
After studying Graphic Design at The Fashion Institute of Technology, Stravinski has worked for VIBE, Popular Mechanics and O, the Oprah magazine. He is currently the Art Director for Esquire magazine.

Hector Sanchez
Design Director/Consultant
Former design director for Indianapolis Monthly, Hector Sanchez is an award-winning art director specializing in editorial design, illustration, and iconography. Sanchez has received honors, from the Society of Publication Designers, the Society of Newspaper Design, The City and Regional Magazine Association. His work has appeared in Print Magazine and he has led panel discussions on publication design trends and management. Hector now lives and works as a consultant in South Texas with his wife Alejandra Lopez.
