"The Covers Are Wild and Illegible (and Totally Inspiring!)"

Lately I've been looking at issues of House Beautiful from the late 1960s. I love the pages of illustrated merchandise. It's so modern!

The photo styling is a little more perfect and uptight than I like, but some of the rooms seem like they could have come out of current day Domino magazine. They really have a lot of integrity and relevance. That was such an eclectic time period for interior design and we're in the middle of a similar moment. The covers are wild and illegible (and totally inspiring!). The lines are all hinting at the sexual revolution: "DECORATING TO PLEASE YOURSELF" and "Today's turned-on designs". They crack me up. I love them!
