Job Description: The Arts/Publications Production Specialist described herein works directly with the director of Advancement Communications. The incumbent’s duties include art direction, design, and layout of a variety of assignments involving advertising, Web sites, promotional materials, brochures, newsletters, and other collateral for news and marketing purposes. He/she designs an array of materials for the Health Science Center’s advancement communications team. The incumbent must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite with emphasis in InDesign. Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of experience with an emphasis on graphic design.

  • Knowledge of the fine arts and their relevance to creating promotional materials that impresses and inspire

  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, and Flash; must have the ability to storyboard or translate ideas to designers and develop innovative graphics solutions for both print and Web

  • Good understanding of typesetting

Job Description: Trusted Media Brands is seeking a full-time Assistant Photo Editor to work at Reader’s Digest. Seeking a proactive creative with a positive attitude who has a passion for visuals: photography, illustration, video, and magazine publishing. Media Designer, This Old House

Job Description: This Old House Ventures is seeking a Media Designer, a staff position, to work on digital and print projects for all of This Old House’s platforms and groups, including Marketing, This Old House magazine, ThisOldHouse.com, This Old House and Ask This Old House TV. This position is a member of the Design team and works across the organization and mission. It’s equal parts production, creative design, and assisting design team members. Job Requirements:
• At least 2-3 years’ experience in graphic design work in related design role
• Strong proficiency and experience in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) and able to work in Powerpoint and Keynote; experience with AfterEffects helpful
• Experience optimizing designs for online, mobile and digital platforms.
• Familiarity with trends in digital and editorial design essential
• Fluent with typography and image creation and manipulation
• Ability to work hard, fast, and precise, with a love of detail and a strong familiarity with production processes
