Karen Lomax, Editorial + Publication Designer/Art Director

About: I design editorial publications, long-form reports, and books for health, science, policy, and nonprofit organizations, with more than 20 years of experience turning dense material into clear, engaging publications. Publication and report design is the core of my practice: flagship reports, annual reports, report-series systems, and branded data visualization.

My editorial background includes magazine feature design and art direction, where I’ve developed visual concepts, commissioned and worked with imagery, and designed story-driven layouts that make complex subjects engaging and accessible.

I bring senior print-production expertise to every project. After two decades in the print industry and thousands of pieces sent to press, I speak printers' language, manage specialty finishes like foil, embossing, debossing, and gilt edges, and keep budgets on track whether they're large or small.

My background is in photography (RIT-trained), which shapes how I edit, sequence, and give images room to carry a story. Recent work spans editorial features, ongoing policy report series, luxury fine-art books, and a 240-page collectible artist book.

I'd love to hear about your project!

Niky Chopra, Designer/Art Director/Illustrator

About: Hi! I'm Niky, a designer and art director who loves editorial design, branding, and all things typography.

I spent nearly four years on the editorial art team at Washingtonian, designing feature packages, monthly departments, and visual stories with an incredibly talented team. These days I split my time between editorial work and building brand identities and visual systems. I'm endlessly fascinated by type (I've even dabbled in typeface design), and I enjoy making work that's thoughtful, concept-driven, and crafted down to the smallest detail.

I've been lucky to have my work recognized with SPD Merit Awards and CRMA nominations along the way, but mostly I just love making things and working with good people.

I'm always happy to collaborate, chat about design, or hear about interesting opportunities. I'm currently open to both full-time and part-time roles, so please feel free to say hello!

Stephanie Diani, Photographer/Director

About: I grew up wanting to be Indiana Jones, and so graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Classical Archaeology from UC Santa Barbara — only to then realize my true passion was photography. A self-taught photographer, I began my career as a staffer for various California newspapers, and as a west coast freelancer for the New York Times and other national outlets. As assignments with celebrities increased, my reputation as a photographer who understood the idiosyncrasies of the entertainment industry grew.

Equally adept at capturing the quirky and the dramatic, I create a safe space for my subjects in front of the camera. I've led large and small productions and work nationally and internationally. I never did become an archaeologist, but I'd really love to photograph Harrison Ford.

Mona Eing & Michael Meissner, Illustrators

About: Hi, we are an illustrator team based in central Germany, where we live with our two children. With over a decade of experience as designers and several years of working closely together as an illustrator duo, we have developed a unique visual voice that bridges the gap between tradition and contemporary expression.

Our stylistic range stretches from hyper-photorealism to expressive, painterly imagery. Visually, we draw inspiration from the Old Masters as well as contemporary artists. We are influenced by the intense colors and visual diversity of our time, weaving together past and present—both conceptually and aesthetically.

We are driven by the challenge of translating complex topics into compelling, singular images—without losing depth, nuance, or the essence of the message. At the same time, we are passionate about crafting bold, cinematic scenes where a single illustration can unfold an entire story.

Our backgrounds complement each other: Mona studied costume and stage design, while Michael holds a degree in communication design. These roots inform a shared visual language we call “painterly realism”—a vivid, detail-rich style that blends the power of reduction with the richness of intricate storytelling.

While we primarily work digitally, we also paint traditionally in oil, embracing the full spectrum of artistic techniques to meet the needs of each project.

We have given lectures on topics such as cover illustration and the responsibility of illustrators at various German universities, and we look forward to sharing our expertise internationally as well. In addition Michael teaches illustration and drawing at the universities of Dortmund and Hanover in Germany.

We work across a wide range of fields: for newspapers and magazines, museums, theaters, NGOs, advertising clients, as well as television and documentary productions—and we’re always curious to explore new creative territories.

Represented internationally by Debut Art.

Collin McCormack, Illustrator/Designer/Photographer/Videographer/Animator

About: Hi! My name is Collin.

I’m an illustrator, but I also like to teach. I also have a lot of non art-related interests: racing, movies at the theater, ice hockey, marshmallow fluff, shoes, video games, legos, cycling, and trying to describe myself to others.

I like to think of myself as a translator for the mind’s eye. It’s my goal to visually bridge any client with their own potential clients, customers, and fans, whether they be in the realm of advertising, music, sports, entertainment, editorial, or anywhere else that visual aid provides benefit.

I graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and received my MFA in Illustration under C.F. Payne at the University of Hartford, and I’m living in Foxboro, Massachusetts. I'm excited to begin teaching in an adjunct capacity in the fall of 2025.

I’m always open to collaboration, so if you have a project where I might be of use, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Let’s make something cool together!
