About: I start with pencil and paper, letting an idea sit and reveal itself before I ever touch a screen. Most work then becomes a digital painting, sometimes layered with traditional media for texture and weight. What I'm chasing is duality — an image that holds two truths at once, that doesn't resolve into a single tidy meaning. I tend toward images that are quiet and thoughtful rather than loud, and I try to keep sentimentality at arm's length — though I'll admit the occasional cat or bird sneaks in when a piece needs a bit of emotional counterweight. After years working as a designer immersed in business problems, I've found myself drawn instead to the social, political, and cultural currents of the moment — work that feels immediate, but that I hope carries something lasting, too.
