Job Description: Men’s Health is seeking a talented, confident art director to join its award-winning creative team. Under the guidance of the creative director, the art director will be responsible for a broad range of editorial design and will help shape the look of the brand. This position will: design section layouts and 1 to 2 features per issue; find ways to tell stories graphically and in unconventional and non-linear ways; assist with managing the art department budget; cultivate a deep roster of contributing photographers, illustrators, and graphic artists; attend brainstorming sessions with the entire editorial team, suggesting heds and deks, and coming up with story ideas; attend to other duties and editorial projects as assigned by manager. - 4+ years of professional editorial design experience at a consumer magazine.
- Strong typographic skills.
- Ability to work with a team on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
